, Jos Charle has served the publication with distinction in many roles, and remains responsible for the all-important night editing role. His appointment as Deputy Editor is well deserved.

Tania Stapelberg has been the Pretoria News
news editor for many years and Damian Paterson its chief sub-editor. Like Jos, they have many years of exemplary service at the Pretoria News
and are deserving of their new extended responsibilities.
Kennedy Mudzuli quickly made his mark as a metro reporter and has served in a managerial role in his previous position as an editor at Caxton. He is ideally placed to lead the newsroom of the future.
"This is great news for our team. I believe that each team member with their unique skills and experience, would have a positive impact on the newspaper's future," said Bojé.
Executive chairman of Independent Media, Dr Iqbal Survé, in congratulating the staff members on their promotions, said, "Part of our growth strategy is to nurture and develop talent and excellence. This is a fine example of staff members being rewarded for their talent and dedication. I wish them continued success."
According to the latest AMPS released by the South African Research Foundation, Pretoria News showed a solid growth in readership moving from 125,000 to 141,000 daily readers.
