Credit professionals awarded by CoreXalance

`This year has sped by like a rollercoaster. And what a ride it was. As part of their annual year-end function, CoreXalance once again awarded the financial departments of the media owners they do business with. The awards ceremony has now become a tradition, with media owner credit departments battling it out for some of the awards!
The awards were held on Thursday the 1st of November during a cocktail function at the Radiance Guest Lodge and Conference Centre in Bryanston, Johannesburg.

CoreXalance uses nautical elements in all their marketing material, as a way of illustrating what happens in business. Mandy Kayser, CoreXalance CEO, explained this in a bit more detail: "Sand is the money of an industry. The sea represents the administration, collecting and reporting. Then you have the deep, dark ocean with its trove of coral and treasures waiting for the marketing and sales departments to scoop it up!" The winners in each category receive a silver boat, engraved with their company name and that of the award category. "The boats symbolise the business that sails ahead of the others in this competitive industry ocean. And was it competitive this year!" explained Mandy.

  1. Been there done that - given to the company who is there and does what needs to be done, when needed. This award focuses on fees paid on time, schedules sent in on time and responses and attendance to the CoreXalance Industry Networking Functions. In this category, Ramsay Media won. The finalists were Caxton Magazines, Capro and Ads24 Newspapers.
  2. How low can you go - given to companies who limit the risk of bad debt by resolving queries, passing necessary credits quickly and collecting debt well. The Citizen won, with Capro Limited, Caxton Magazines and Primedia Broadcasting as finalists.
  3. Most improved debtors book percentage - given to companies that showed an improvement in their debtors book percentage. The winner was MTV Networks Africa. The finalists were SABC and The Citizen.
  4. Most consistent debtors book improvement over 12 months - awarded to the company that had the biggest and most consistent increase in collection over 12 months. SABC walked away with the prize, with MTV Networks Africa and DStv Media Sales as finalists.
  5. Best debtors department as voted by Agencies - This criteria for this award consists of a list of questions on the performance and relationship between agencies and the media owners. The answers received by advertising agencies leads to a winner in this category. Independent Newspapers walked away with the prize, with Primedia Broadcasting, United Stations and the Newspaper Advertising Bureau (NAB) as finalists.
  6. Credit professional of the year - celebrates the great work individuals do for their respective credit departments. Individuals are judged on the return of calls, quick and effective response to queries, sustaining an effective relationship with others and being an all-round effective and professional individual. The winner this year was Zaida Ryloon from Ramsay Media.
  7. Criteria of the above mentioned awards are tallied up, to choose the overall winner of the CoreXalance Credit Excellence Award 2012. This coveted award went to Capro Limited, with Primedia Broadcasting as the runner-up and The Citizen as 2nd runner-up.
